Building an entrepreneurial support organization from scratch is no easy feat; it takes an enormous level of dedication, tenacity, and drive.
For the past three years, Caroline Crowder, our founding Executive Director, has worked tirelessly to build the Boyd Innovation Center, powered by GrowCo (BIC) into what it is today.
Caroline is stepping down at the end of May to pursue her next mission. During Caroline’s time at the BIC, she oversaw the transformation of both the physical space that houses the Boyd Innovation Center as well as the wider startup community into a thriving and growing ecosystem.
“Caroline has played an enormous role in shaping the startup community in Columbia and the surrounding areas. Her contributions have made the Boyd Innovation Center into the destination for tech entrepreneurship support, guidance, and mentorship in the region. On behalf of the Board, I thank Caroline for her years of outstanding service and wish her the greatest success in her new endeavors,” said Lanford Holloway, President of the Boyd Innovation Center Board of Directors.
"Caroline was instrumental in developing our hope and vision of a destination for tech startups at the Boyd Innovation Center and we wish her all the best in the future. We were very fortunate to have her energy and ability in taking these first steps of establishing the organization," said Joe Wilczewski, Executive Director of the Boyd Foundation.
Community members can expect the same level of programming and support that they have grown accustomed to at the BIC. Existing BIC staff will oversee day to day operations while we conduct a national search for our next Executive Director.
